Cyclone Gulab to make landfall by evening

Cyclonic storm Gulab is expected to make landfall on Sunday evening in the coastal regions of southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted.
Under the influence of the cyclone, heavy to very heavy falls have been predicted in parts of south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, The Indian Express reports. Telangana and a few places in north interior Odisha and Chhattisgarh will also witness heavy rainfall today.
Due to the prevailing weather conditions, 28 trains have been cancelled and few others have been diverted, rescheduled, regulated and terminated for a short period of time due to Cyclone Gulab.
As per the satellite observations at 5.30 am today, the cyclone was located at northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal near Lat. 18.3°N and Long. 87.3°E, about 270 km east-southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha) & 330 km east of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
This is the third cyclone of 2021 after Tauktae and Yaas that had formed in May this year.
