Young woman dies being drowned in Gulshan lake

Body of a young woman was recovered after she went missing in drowning of a boat at Gulshan Lake in the capital.
The body of 19-year-old Selina Akter was recovered 13 hours after she went missing.
Police said the boat carrying passengers was capsized in Gulshan Lake on Thursday morning. Selina was one of the passengers of the boat.
Divers of Fire Service could not trace Selina condeucting search from the morning to the evening. At about 10:00pm, the body of the woman was found floating.
Selina used to work at a diagnostic centre at Banani. She was going to her workplace in the morning.
Fire Service sources said a boat with 14 passengers on board was going to the Road No. 33 ghat in between Gulshan 1 and 2 from the eastern ghat of Karail slum at about 8:30am. When the boat reached in the middle of the lake, it suddenly sank with the passengers on board. Though 13 passengers managed to come ashore by swimming, Selina Akter went missing. Receiving information, a diver's team of Fire Service went to the spot.
Dewan Azad, duty officer stationed at the control room of Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate, said the divers team of Fire Service went to the spot hearing about the capsize of the boat. They conducted search in the lake from the morning till the evening, but couldn't trace the missing woman.
Banani police said Selina's body was found floating on the lake at about 10:00pm on Thursday. Later, her relatives went there and received the dead body. Selina's father Md Babul is an inhabitant of Karail slum.
