Army Chief adorned as Colonel Commandant of Armoured Corps

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed on Wednesday (September 22) officially took charge as the eighth Colonel Commandant of Armored Corps of the Bangladesh Army.

He took over the charge at an inaugural ceremony of the Colonel Commandant of the Armored Corps in accordance with the military tradition and customs at the Shaheed Lt Badiuzzaman Parade Ground of the Armored Corps Center Grand School in Majhira Cantonment in Bogra, said a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

At the ceremony, the Senior Commander of Armored Corps and Master Warrant Officer adorned the Army Chief with the rank badge of 'Colonel Commandant' of  the Armoured Corps.

Apart from the senior officers of the Bangladesh Army, senior officers of the Armored Corps and representatives of the Armored Units and members of various ranks in the Bogra area were present on the occasion.

While arriving at the training centre, the Army Chief received a 'Guard of Honour' by a team of the Armoured Corps.

Being adorned with the rank badge, Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed attended the 41st Annual Conference of the Armoured Corps.

He made introductory remarks to the commanders and other officers of the Armored Corps units who joined the conference and exchanged views on the development of the Armored Corps, enhancement of professional skills and
activities conducted at home and abroad.

The Chief of Army Staff highlighted the glorious tradition of the Armored Corps and its contribution to the service of the country and called upon all its members to be prepared to cope with the challenges of the 21st century by acquiring skills through modern and time-befitting trainings.

Taking charge of the Army Staff as Colonel Commandant of the Armored Corps has reaffirmed the commitment to create a new impetus among the members of the Crops and to set a unique example of national service to each member of the crops in the days to come.
