BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the present illegitimate government has become dependent on false, fabricated and ghost cases to cling to the power.
The government’s violence has now reached an uncontrolled level so that no one can stand up against the misrule of Awami League, said Fakhrul in a statement on Saturday.
He made the statement in a protest against the filing of case against the lawyers of Mymensingh and others.
In the statement, the BNP secretary general said, “Authoritarian rule has been established in this independent country by implementing the policy of ‘might is right.’ But the government will never be able to overcome these misdeeds and cruel rule as like the evidence of the past history of this country and the tragic fate of the arbitrary rulers.”
He further said the rule of the country can never be prolonged by terrorizing the people.
“The freedom-loving people of this country are determined to overthrow the terrible misrule of the government. The lawyers will build a united resistance by ignoring the oppression of the government.”
The BNP secretary general called for immediate withdrawal of the false case filed against the lawyers of Mymensingh.
