11th parliament's 14th session prorogued

The 14th session of 11th parliament was prorogued on Thursday after a total of seventh sittings as the brief session begun on first day of this month following all the necessary health guidelines amid corona pandemic.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury read out the prorogation order of the president.
Jatiya Sangsad leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered her concluding speech at the closing session. Deputy leader of the Opposition in the parliament GM Quader also give his closing speech at the session.
At the closing session, a total of nine bills were placed in the brief session which was ultimately wrapped up due to the intensive outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Along with the legal procedure, a total of 32 important notices under Section 71 of the rules of procedure were received.
During the question answer session, only 389 questions were answered by the ministers under different ministries with some 584 questions were received for the session.
In addition to this, a total of twenty-four questions were received for prime minister's question answer session where only sixteen questions were answered by the prime minister.
Before concluding the session, Bangabandhu's address on the occasion of the International Mothers Language Day on February 21 in 1971 was also displayed and broadcast at the parliament session room recalling the struggle of great leader of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the freedom of the Bangalee nation.
Before reading out the prorogation order, the Speaker thanked all the MPs of treasury and opposition benches .
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also thanked all the MPs, officials, journalists, law enforcers and fire service and civil defense personnel for their services for smoother holding the parliament session.
