Chattogram's rail services with Dhaka and Sylhet has been restored after seven hours of suspension following a derailment of a train in Cumilla.
The train communication, which was halted from 2am following an accident at Paduar Bazar Bishwa Road area of Cumilla district, started at 9am on Sunday.
Cumilla Railway Station Master Shafiqur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.
A Chattogram-bound 'Mahanagr Express' hit a vegetable-laden covered van standing beside the rail crossing at 2am. After the accident, the rail communication was snapped.
Meanwhile, the railway authorities have formed a four-member body, headed by Snehashish Das Gupta, Transport officer of Chattogram East Railway Division, to probe the incident.
The committee has been asked to submit its report by today, Shafiqur Rahman said.
