Ex-BERC chairman AR Khan dies of Covid-19



Former chairman of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) and valiant freedom fighter Abdur Rab Khan died of Covid-19 at a hospital in the capital this afternoon.

He breathed his last at 3:45pm at the hospital while underwent treatment there. He was 75.

His relatives said Abdur Rab Khan, also known as AR Khan, has recovered from Covid-19 recently. Then he got admitted to the hospital due to old age complications.

AR Khan left behind his wife and a daughter. He hails from Barisal district.

Former Secretary AR Khan served as the BERC chairman from 2014 to 2016. He was the director general at the prime minister's office when Awami League came to power in 1996. The former BCS official also served as the divisional commissioner of Dhaka.
