2 Joypurhat farmers killed by lightning; 4 injured

Two farmers were killed and four others injured by lightning strike in Ratanpur area in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district  on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Delwar Hossain Dulal, 50 and Mofazzal Hossain, 48, of Ratanpur village.

Police said some farmers went to plant Aman paddy around 9 am.
A thunderbolt struck six of them, leaving two dead on the spot. Later, local people rescued the injured.

Palash Chandra Deb, Officer-in-Charge of Panchbibi Police Station, said the injured were admitted to Joypurhat Adhunik Hospital.
