Torch of independence lit by Bangabandhu will be lit up forever: Hasan

Paying rich tribute to Bangabandhu, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the torch of independence lit by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be lit up forever.
 
“The torch of Bangladesh’s independence lit by the greatest Bangalee of all time Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be lit up forever,” he said, addressing the candle light programme on the premises of Shikha Chirantan at Suharwardi Udyan in the capital.
 
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) organised the function marking the first day of the month of mourning.
 
Hasan said the trial of Bangabandhu killing has been executed. And now, the expectation of the countrymen is to unmask the masterminds including Ziaur Rahman who were involved in the brutal assassinations, he added.
 
The minister said a commission should be constituted to unmask the masterminds behind the assassination of Bangabandhu to let the history to future generation know. Otherwise, the next generation will not know the real history, said Hasan, also the Awami League joint general secretary.
 
He said the people of the country also expect the banning of those who were against the independence and didn’t want the freedom and were involved in the brutal assassination of August 15.  
 
He also paid rich tribute to other family members of Bangabandhu who were killed in the brutal assassination, four national leaders and all martyrs.
 
The minister said the candle light programme in front of Shikha Chirantan is significant as the awakening of Bengali nationalism and the state of Bangladesh was established under the leadership of Bangabandhu.
 
AL South city unit former general secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Monoranjan Ghoshal, AL leader Advocate Balaram Poddar, BSJ general secretary Arun Sarker Rana, actresses Aruna Biswas and Tarin Jahan, singer Dinat Jahan Munni, among others, addressed the function with BSJ president Rafiqul Alam in the chair.
 
Later, the minister joined the 64th founding anniversary of NAP Bhashani through online from his office at Secretariat.
 
In the beginning of his speech, Hasan paid rich tribute to Maulana Bhashani and Bangabandhu.
 
He said ill attempts were carried out to kill the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. But the country is moving ahead far to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu under the dynamic leadership of his (Bangabandhu) worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added.
 
He said the party- National Awami Party (NAP)- is always vocal against all ill politics when some political parties including BNP choose the path of negative politics.
 
Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikkya Parishad president Nim Chandra Bhowmik, Krishak Sramik Party president Md Sirazul Haque, Bangladesh JSD general secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Conservative Party president Anisur Rahman and Kazi Aref Foundation president Kazi Masud Ahmed, among others, addressed the meeting with NAP Bhashani chairman Mostaq Ahmed in the chair.
