People to pay last respect to Fakir Alamgir at Shaheed Minar

The body of eminent singer Fakir Alamgir will be taken to Central Shaheed Minar in the capital at 12 noon on Saturday for the the people to pay their last tribute. 

His son Mashuk Alamgir Rajib said his father's body will be kept on Shaheed Minar premises for an hour till 1pm.  

The first funeral prayers for Fakir Alamgir will be held at the Pallima Sangsad in Khilgaon at 11am. He will be buried at Taltola Graveyard after Zuhr prayers.

The 71-year-old legendary singer tested COVID-19 positive on July 14 last. Since then he had been taking treatment staying at home at the advise of doctor. 

But, later, he was admitted to United Hospital with breathing complications. There he had suffered from a heart attack at around 10pm on Friday while in ventilation at the COVID unit.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the singer.
