Four killed in Rangpur road accident

Four people were killed and 29 injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in Rangpur’s Taraganj upazila on Wednesday. 

Of the deceased, one was identified as Shamsur Rahman, 50, son of Tajirul Islam of Shingimari village in Pabartipur upazila of Dinajpur.

According to police and eyewitness sources, a Dinajpur-bound Himachal bus leaving from Dhaka collided head-on with Hanif Enterprise in front of Taraganj Upazila Complex, leaving three people dead on the spot and 29 people injured. 

Police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured. They were admitted to Taraganj Health Complex and Rangpur Medical College Hospital. 

Another people succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at hospital. 

Taraganj Highway Police OC Nurunbi Pradhan said the injured were rescued and sent to hospital.
