Bangladesh seeks to boost economic ties with Kuwait

Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen urged Kuwait to assist Bangladesh under Kuwait Development fund (KWF) to strengthen bi-lateral relation and cooperation in business areas between the two friendly countries.
"Foreign Minister has also expressed his eagerness to establish a Forum of South-South Finance Development, to recruit more Bangladesh skilled workers and create more favourable environment for Bangladesh businesspersons in Kuwait," Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
Kuwait Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah proposed to overview relationships and to form a Joint Committee at Foreign Ministers level to take forward the relations through joint efforts.
Both the Foreign ministers made these calls during a meeting on the sidelines of International Conference titled "Central and South Asia: Regional connectivity, Challenges and opportunities" on Friday, July 16, 2021 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Foreign Ministry said.
Kuwait Foreign Minister also sought Bangladesh's assistance and cooperation in strengthening health institutions, food security, education, IT and cyber security.
Ministers of both countries expressed their happiness at the level of existing bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Kuwait.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister expressed his eagerness to continue peacekeeping troops, to recruit more Bangladesh skilled workers and create more favorable environment for Bangladesh businesspersons in Kuwait, Foreign Ministry said.
Dr. Momen expressed his gratitude to Kuwait Government for supporting resolution on Human Right Commission to repatriate Rohinga to Myanmar.
Two leaders expressed their willingness to visit each other's country after development of Corona Pandemic situation.
