The government has decided to include dope testing for applicants of public school assistant teachers. Following viva interview conducted by Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), health test, including dope test of 2,121 assistant teachers of government secondary schools will start on July 4.

A compulsory dope test with other tests and health test reports should be sent to the Department of Health. The Department of Health has also released the list of hospitals and candidates for the examination.
According to the Ministry of Education, the PSC issued a recruitment circular in September 2018 to recruit subject-based teachers in government secondary schools to address the teacher shortage in 311 government secondary schools across the country.
On December 29 last year, the PSC recommended the recruitment of 2,155 candidates. After that it was not possible to appoint them due to various complications. Finally, the Ministry of Education has started the process of appointing them.
Director of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (School), Professor Md Belal Hossain said that health examination of the PSC enlisted persons is about to commence. Once the health examination is over, they will start recruiting in a short time.
Due to intermittent lockdowns and government restrictions, the process has been delayed to complete their data verification and health checks. However, all efforts have been taken to complete the work as soon as possible.
