Valiant freedom fighters to get Tk 20,000 allowance from July

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huque has said each valiant freedom fighters will receive Tk 20,000 allowance from the month of July.
He revealed it while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the newly-built 'Dhaka District Muktijoddha Complex' building on Sunday.
The complex has been built spending Tk 3.06 crore under the District Muktijoddha Construction Complex of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
The Liberation War Affairs Minister said construction work of 30,000 accommodation for the valiant freedom fighters will begin shortly. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved the construction of 30,000 accommodation for the valiant freedom fighters. Though the number was 14,000 at the beginning, the prime minister later raised it to 30,000, he said.
He said valiant freedom fighters will receive treatment at free of cost. Funds have already been allocated to different specialised hospitals and health centres at district and upazila levels. Besides, the graves of all valiant freedom fighters will be built in same design.
With Dhaka deputy commissioner Shahidul Islam in the chair, the inuguration ceremony was also addressed by Shahjahan Khan, MP, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Benajir Ahmed, MP from Dhaka-20 constituency, Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Liberation War Affairs Secretary Khawja Mia and Dhaka's police super Md Maruf Hossain Sarder, among others.
