Siam Ibn Sharif, friend of Islamic speaker Abu Twa-haa Muhammad Adnan, has been fired from his job.
He was working in the Human Resources (HR) department of a private company in Rangpur city. Siam himself confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon.
Siam said, “Abu Twa-haa was his childhood friend. They studied in school and college together. But he did not know that Adnan was hiding in their house.”
Siam further said, “He was not informed about the matter from home as he was staying in Rangpur due to his job. After returning to Twa-Haa on Friday, I know about his hiding in my house firstly from the media.”
Siam said he was fired from his job after publishing of media reports that Twa-haa was in hiding at his home. “This is an extreme injustice to me,” he said.
Asked why his mother did not tell him about the hiding of Twa-haa at his home, Siam said, “Twa-haa used to go to our house often. We have a very close relationship. He also used to go to our village with his wife. This time he asked my mother not to tell anyone about giving them shelter.”
Twa-haa with his two companions and driver had not been found since the night of June 10. The Islamic preacher was rescued from his in-laws’ house in Rangpur on Friday afternoon after missing for a week.
