Islamic preacher Abu Twa-haa Muhammad Adnan has been missing since June 10. His wife Sabikunnahar on Wednesday urged law enforcement agencies, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to take steps for the safe return of her missing husband.
“He (Twa-haa Muhammad Adnan) is an innocent man, there can be misunderstandings. Give him back to me, or take me to him,” said Sabikunnahar at a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in Dhaka.
She said, “If he is really involved in any crime, try him under state law. I will not say anything. He is not affiliated with any party. There is no one by his side except me and some young men.”
“I believe the law enforcement agencies can find my husband in two hours if they want. If you cannot return him to me, at least take me to him. I cannot tolerate it anymore, physically and mentally I’m upset,” added Sabikunnahar.
Abu Twa-haa’s wife at press conference said, “The last time he spoke to me at 2:37am on Thursday (June 10), when he said he was approaching. He was then at Gabtali. Then I got his phone off from 3.00am, still getting the number off.”
“He (Abu Twa-haa) said he was accompanied by three other colleagues, including the driver, at the time of the disappearance. The three colleagues and the car have not been found so far. I am getting tired of wandering around in different places.”
Sabikunnahar sought the intervention of the Prime Minister and said, “Honorable Prime Minister, you are my mother. Do something quickly by looking at the child’s face.”
