Six more persons died of Covid-19 infection at the Coronavirus Unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) during the 24 hours till 9:00am on Tuesday.
Two of them were Covid-19 patients while four died of Covid-19 symptoms.
Dr Md Mohiuddin Khan, focal person of the Coronavirus Unit of MMCH, said the persons who died of Covid-19 included one 40-year-old male from Tangail, while the other was a 77-year-old male from Jamalpur. Of the rest four deceased, three hailed from Jamalpur and a 60-year-old woman from Muktagacha in Mymensingh.
Four of the deceased had undergone treatment at the intensive care unit, while two were admitted to a ward. They died between 8:00am on Tuesday and 8:00am on Wednesday. The deceased also included a 22-year-old youth.
He further said 110 Covid-19 patients have been admitted to the Coronavirus Unit of the MMCH until Wednesday afternoon. Eight, out of 13 ICU beds, are filled up with Covid-19 patients.
