Week-long strict lockdown imposed in Hili land port area


The local administration has imposed strict restrictions in Hili land port area in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur for a week to contain the chain spread Covid-19 transmission.

The restrictions came into effect from 6am on Tuesday and to continue till 4 pm on June 21.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Corona Preventive Committee held in the upazila on Monday following the sudden spike  of the infection.
Kitchen markets and local grocery shops will be allowed to operate from 6am to 4pm during the lockdown.

Action will be taken against those found violating health protocols.

Dr Gaddafi Shikder, resident medical officer of Hakimpur Upazila Health Complex, said that so far some 135 people have contracted coronavirus in the upazila, while 101 people have recovered from the disease.
