Patient detected with 'black fungus' at Dhaka Medical



The authorities of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) have detected a person carrying Mucormycosis or black fungus, who has been recovered from COVID-19 infection.

Confirming the matter on Monday, the hospital registrar Dr Farhad Hasan Chowdhury Maruf said, "The patient took admission at the DMCH corona unit a week ago for his post-COVID complications. We conducted sinus surgery with the help of ENT department. After that, his sample has been tested where the patient was found infected with the black fungus."

DMCH director Brig Gen Nazmul Haque said, " We are giving proper treatment to the patient with the black fungus."
