Floating body recovered from Mahamanda River

The body of a man was recovered from Mahananda River at Gomastapur upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Saturday afternoon.

Deceased Rois Uddin, 40, was a resident of Bhabanipur village in the upazila.

Locals spotted the floating body in the river in Durgapur Ghat area around 10 am and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue.

Family sources said Rois went out of home around 10:30 pm on Thursday and since then he was missing.

Gomastapur Police Station OC Dilip Kumar Das said two persons were detained for initial questioning.

Filing of a case is underway in this connection.
