Jamaat leader Shajahan Chowdhry remanded

Former Jamaat-e-Islami member of parliament Shajahan Chowdhury was placed on a three-day remand by a court for his alleged involvement in Hefazat-e Islam's mayhem at Hathazari recently.

Senior judicial magistrate Shahriar Iqbal placed Shahjahan Chowdhury on the remand aftre he was produced before the court early Saturday afternoon.

Earlier, Shahjahan Chowdhury was arrested from his house at Chamadar Para under Satkania Pourasava in Chattogram early Saturday morning.

Later, he was produced before the senior judicial magistrate's court in a case filed with Hathazari Police Station.

Shahjahan Chowdhury is the ameer of Chittagong City Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh and member of the Majlish-e-Shura of the party.
