"The goal of the first government of independent Bangladesh, namely the Mujibnagar government, formed on April 10, 1971, was to build a non-communal Bangladesh free from exploitation and hunger and poverty. The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working towards that goal," he said.
The minister made the remarks while virtually addressing a discussion organized by the Pirojpur district administration on the occasion of the historic Mujibnagar Day as the chief guest, from his official residence on Baily Road in the capital.
He said that premier Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly to establish the basic human rights of all the people of Bangladesh irrespective of religion, caste and creed by freeing them from exploitation and deprivation.
She has already made Bangladesh a role model for development in front of the world, the minister said.
On the historic Mujibnagar Day, the minister called upon the pro-liberation forces to work together with the spirit of the war of liberation and stand against the violent communal evil forces in the country.
