Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday said that the BNP has taken police and country people as the party's rivals to cover up its political failure.
"It is not the government, rather BNP is taking revenge making the people as their rivals. They are carrying out violence as people do not cast their votes for BNP. And now, BNP is damaging the lives and property of people," he said.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, came up with the comment while speaking at a press briefing at his official residence on Thursday.
He also mentioned that Sheikh Hasina undertakes every programme for the sake of country men.
"Instigated by the BNP, Hefazat-e-Islam caried out the violence on March 26. The incidents on that day and the next few days were the part of a deep-rooted conspiracy and planned," he said blaming the BNP for the mayhem.
