President, PM, CJ, law minister condole death of Matin Khasru

President Md Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain have condoled the death of former law minister and Supreme Court Bar Association president Abdul Matin Khasru.
Law Minister Anisul Huq also condoled death of Matin Khasru who was former law minister and ruling Awami League presidium member.
In his message, President M Abdul Hamid expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former law minister and SCBA president Abdul Matin Khasru.
In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Matin Khasru worked as a prosecution counsel in Bangabandhu killing case and contributed a lot to the cause of establishing rule of law in the country with professional skills.
The Prime Minister, Chief Justice and law minister prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
The death of Abdul Matin Khasru caused an irreparable loss to the country, they said.
They expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Matin Khasru, the newly elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, breathed his last at 4.45 pm at the age of 71 at the Combined Military Hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment with COVID-19 infection since March 16.
A five-time MP from Cumilla-5 constituency, Matin Khasru served the Awami League government as the law minister from 1996 to 2001.
Matin Khasru, presidium member of Awami League, was a freedom fighter and the commander of Burichang in Cumilla during the Liberation War in 1971.
