A man was allegedly killed by his younger brother at Tetulia upazila in Panchagarh district on Tuesday night over land dispute.

Deceased Rabiul Alam, 42, was a resident of Lalgochh area in Buraburi union under the upazila.

Locals said the siblings locked into an altercation over land dispute. At one point, Rabiul’s younger brother Firoz Hossain, 32, hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

Rabiul was rushed to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Confirming the matter, Tetulia Model Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Abu Sayem Mia said Firoz went into hiding. Police are trying to detain him.
