Modhupur Pir, OC among 10 injured in Munshiganj clash

Police and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh clashed in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj on Sunday, leaving at least 10 people including a police officer and Modhupur Pir Abdul Hamid injured.

Police said, Hefazat men tried to put up barricade in Kuchiamora and Nimtali areas on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in the morning.

On information, police rushed to the scene and removed them to make the traffic normal.

Modhupur Pir Abdul Hamid appeared in the scene arpund 11:30am and called his followers  to take peaceful position.

As Pir Abdul Hamid tried to get on the expressway, police intercepted them.
Being obstructed, angry  Hefazat activists attacked police that left Pir Hamid and three cops including Sirajdikhan OC  SM Jalal Uddin and SI Sekander Ali injured.
