Amazon workers in Alabama put the ultimate pressure on unionizing

Organizers and workers are putting the final pressure on the first Amazon Warehouse Union election in the U.S. in Alabama, which, if successful, will mark one of the biggest labor victories in the U.S. over the past few decades.

The struggle to form unions in hugely lucrative technologies and retail giants has sparked a lot of political interest and pushed labor rights to the front pages of America, especially during the coronavirus epidemic when warehouse workers became a necessary workforce for online retailers.
Workers must arrive at the National Labor Relations Board's regional office in Alabama by March 29 to count ballots. Most ballots, including about 5,600 eligible employees, determine the outcome of the election.

The election ballot came out to the workers on February 8. Amazon's efforts to delay the vote and force a private election were rejected by the National Labor Relations Board.
