Nokia is taking some big steps in creating cloud-based 5G radio solutions. Recently, it came out with two industry leaders, including Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS), for extensive research and with the best customer-centric 5G solutions.
The main goal of the collaboration is to create a fancy proof of concept (POC). These POCs will be used to explore a variety of conditions and enable cloud RAN and other similar technologies. Basically, both collaborations are revolutionizing 5G radio solutions for global businesses.
The partnership between Nokia and Google will focus on big business. One of the key ones will focus on Cloud RAN and the combination of Nokia's 5G Video (Virtualized Distributed Unit) and 5G VCU (Virtualized Centralized Unit) with Google's leading computing platform Anthos will run in Anthos. It will also be used for testing with VCUs and 5G cores on 5G standalone networks.
Nokia is working to further enhance the ecosystem of its partners with this initiative, and the companies will also provide a helping hand to CSPs for lower installation and operating costs, which will serve as a facilitator for 5G deployment cashing. Both technology giants will be looking forward to exploring new technologies and solutions that will help them enhance their combined 5G cloud RN and Edge cloud solutions.
