ACC arrests PK Haldar's close associate Runai among 3

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested three officials of International Leasing and Financial Services Limited (ILFSL).
The arrested persons are : the company's acting managing director Abed Hasan, vice president Nahida Runai and senior manager Rafsan Riad Chowhdury.
An ACC team, led by its Deputy Director Gulshan Anowar Prodhan, arrested the trio from Segunbagicha in the city around 4pm on Tuesday.
Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, public relations officer of the anti-graft body, confirmed media about the matter.
Earlier on Monday, the High Court imposed restriction on 122 loan defaulters of the PLFSL from leaving the country.
On July 14, 2019, Bangladesh Bank filed a petition seeking its permission to liquidate PLFSL as it failed to pay its account holders while the HC directed to take steps to liquidate PLFSL.
Last year in November, HC sought a list of load receivers of PLFSL, later a list of 500 people was submitted to HC.
Prashanta Kumar Halder alias PK Halder, the disgraced director of the ILFSL had escaped from the country after embezzling Tk 3,600 crore.
The anti-graft body on January 8, 2020, filed a case against Halder for acquiring wealth of approximately Tk 274,91,55,355 (almost Tk 275 crore) beyond any known income sources and money laundering.
