Riding on a 77-minute goal of Brazil striker Nixon Guylherme Rocha Brizolara, Chittagong Abahani booked a 1-0 win over Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra on Saturday in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
It was the fifth win of the port city club which is currently at the seventh place of the point table with 19 points. It had no development in the place but in collection of points after winning the Saturday match. The boys played 12 matches so far.
On the other hand, the all red team stayed at the same 11th place losing the match. This club has only nine points in collection following its two wins, three ties and seven defeats. This team too played 12 matches.
At the end of the 12th round of BPL, it can be said that Muktijoddha SKC, the once powerhouse of Dhaka football, has certainly failed to do good this far. But the league is a long journey and the boys still get time ahead to improve their condition.
MSC meets Sk Jamal today
In the last match of round 13, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club is set to take on Mohammedan Sporting Club today (Sunday) at 4:00 pm at BNS, Dhaka.
The Jamal boys are at the third place with 23 points while the black and white outfits are at the sixth place with 19 points. Both the teams played 11 matches each so far. The two didn't get a chance to face each other this season as both were in different groups in the season opening Federation Cup. The rivals were able to make it to the quarterfinals though were eliminated from that round eventually.
