BNP wins mayoral post in Bogura

BNP mayoral candidate Rezaul Karim Badshah has unofficially won Bogura municipality election.

Returning officer Mahbub Alam Shah announced the result around 8:45pm on Sunday.

Rezaul Karim got 82,217 votes while his nearest rival independent candidate and former Awami League leader Abdul Mannan Akand bagged 56,090 votes.

Apart from this, Awami League nominated candidate Obaidul Hasan Boby got 20,089 and Islami Andolon Bangladesh candidate Abdul Matin bagged 6,191 votes.

Fifth phase elections to 29 municipalities under 20 districts held on Sunday with some violence of incidents.
