Ctg city polls end amid violence and murder, vote counting begins


Voting in the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) election was concluded on Wednesday amid clashes, violence, and murder.

The ballot casting began at 8:00am and continued till 4:00pm without any break. Afterward, vote counting began. Now, people are eagerly waiting outside the polling centres to know about the results of election.

The presence of the voters in front of different polling centres was very encouraging in the morning. The number of voters continued to rise later on. Besides, tension among the voters also started to grow.

One person was killed during clashes between two ward councillor candidates at Jhautola under No. 13 Pahartoli ward at about 10:00am. The slain Mohammad Alam, 28, was the son of Sultan Ahmed of Burichong area in Cumilla district.
