A deputy jailer and two other officials of Kashimpur Jail have been withdrawn on charge of facilitating an unauthorised meeting between prisoner Hallmark General Manager (GM) Tushar Ahmed and a woman inside the jail.
Assistant jail inspector general Main Uddin Bhuiyan gave the withdrawal order on Friday.
The three officials are deputy jailer of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 Md Golam Saklain, sergeant instructor Md Abdul Bari and assistant chief jailer Md Khalilur Rahman.
The incident took place on January 6. But it came to light on Friday after a TV channel aired the CCTV footage where prisoner Tushar Ahmed was seen roaming in the office area of the prison. After few minutes, a woman entered into the prison from the outside with two youths around 12:55pm. Deputy jailer Saklain received her and left the place.
Saklain returned his office along with Tushar Ahmed after around ten minutes and left Tushar and the woman there for about 45 minutes which violated the rules.
A probe body headed by Additional District Magistrate Abul Kalam has been formed over the issue, said MM Tariqul Islam, deputy commissioner of Gazipur.
Abul Kalam said, "The incident is under investigation. Initial findings suggest the incident is true."
