Zafrullah urges PM to take first vaccine to gain people's trust

Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury has said that people will show their interest in Covid-19 vaccine if the Prime Minister takes the first shot.

"I'm requesting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take the Covid-19 vaccine first in front of camera to keep people's trust on it. As she is our leader, so the vaccination programme can be launched through giving her first jab," he said at a press conference on Friday.

Gonoshasthaya Kendra organised the programme titled "Proper Management of Corona Vaccine."

Dr Zafrullah also criticise the government for allowing a private company to import Covid-19 vaccines without floating any tender and investment.

"The vaccine which costs US dollar 2 will be sold to public at dollar 5 to give chance to a certain company for financial benefit.

He urged the government not to allow private company to import vaccine until the government vacciation programme ends
