 Youth held over killing of newly-elected Sirajganj councillor Accused Zahidul Islam was arrested from Jatrabari in the capital on Thursday night. A knife used to kill councillor Tariqul Islam Khan was also recovered from his possession. Hasibul Alam, Superintendent of Sirajganj Police, informed this in a press conference held at his ofice on Friday. On January 16, BNP-backed candidate Tariqul Islam Khan, who was elected unofficially councillor of ward 6 in Sirajganj municipal election, was stabbed to death by his rivals when he brought out a victory procession.
