Noted actor Dilu passes away

Prominent actor Mujibur Rahman Dilu passed away at United Hospital in the capital on Tuesday morning.

He died around 6:45am at the intensive care unit of the hospital at the age of 68, his elder brother Ataur Rahman confirmed.

Ataur Rahman said Dilu, also a director, theatre activist, playwright, freedom fighter, had been suffering from various diseases including lung, pneumonia. He sought duo from all for Dilu.
The actor's son Ayon Rahman said his father was negative for coronavirus.

He left behind wife, a daughter, two sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Dilu will be buried beside his father's graveyard in Banani after janaza.

His most famous TV role was Malu, in the iconic TV drama serial 'Shangshaptak'.

BSS adds: Earlier in 2005, Mujibur Rahman Dilu was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome and fell into a coma. Eventually, his condition improved and he recovered.

Born on November 6 in 1952, Dilu was listed as a Bangladesh Television actor in 1972.

He had adapted, directed and acted in several theatre productions namely Ami Gadha Bolchhi, Janatar Rangoshala, Nana Ranger Dinguli, and others.
