Woman held for 'killing husband' in Dinajpur

Woman held for 'killing husband' in Dinajpur

Police have arrested a woman at Nawabganj upazila in Dinajpur district for allegedly killing her husband.

Arrested Morfia Begum was the wife of Chand Mia alias Chandu, 40, a resident of Mahmudpur village in the upazila.

Local and relative sources said the couple often locked into altercation over family issue.

Hearing screaming of Morfia on Friday morning, neighbours rushed to the spot and found Chandu dead in his room.

Local suspect that he might have been killed over extramarital relation.

Nawabganj Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Ashok Chouhan said police recovered the body and sent it to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital morgue.

The OC said police detained Morfia in this connection and filing of a murder case is underway in this connection.
