Sirajul Alam Khan's condition stable

Physical condition of political analyst Sirajul Alam Khan, who is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), is now stable, said doctors on Thursday afternoon.
The 80-year-old Khan, who is regarded as a 'mysterious person' in the domain of Bangladesh's politics, has been suffering various physical complications including high blood pressure.
The DMCH authorities have formed a six-member medical board for his treatment. A number of examinations including CT Scans of chest and abdomen have already been done. Besides, his pathological tests have been conducted.
Medical Board's head Prof Dr ABM Jamal, who is also the head of the Department of Surgery, said Khan was admitted to the DMCH on Wednesday night. He could not sleep properly over the last three days. He also suffers from breathing difficulties. Now, he has been kept at a cabin.
Prof Jamal said Khan's condition is now stable. "We the members of the medical board checked him today (Thursday). The CT scans of his chest and abdomen have been carried out. However, it will be possible to say what actually happened after receiving the reports."
Other members of the medical board are DMCH's Anaesthesiology department's head Prof Dr Md Mozaffar Hossain, Gastro-Entereology department's head Prof Dr Hafeza Rosy Akter, Respiratory Medicine department head Prof Dr Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Medicine and Cardiology department's head.
After he fell sick on Wednesday night, Sirajul Alam Khan was first rushed to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease and Research (NICVD) or Suhrawardy Hospital. After the midnight, he was shifted to the DMCH.
He has been kept at VIP Cabin No. 8 at the DMCH.
Sirajul Alam Khan, who is a lifelong bachelor, lives with his brothers at Kalabagan in Dhaka. Earlier, he stayed in the United States for a long time.
He served as a professor of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, a post he has held since 1996. In 2006, he was hospitalized in London and underwent a bypass operation.
He is one of the founders of Swadhin Bangla Biplobi Parishad, a secret organisation of Chhatra League, which played a significant role in the Liberation War. Many call him 'Dada Bhai.' He was also one of the initiators of forming Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) coming out of Awami League after the independence.
Serajul Alam Khan usually doesn't come to public and deliver any address. However, mystery shrouds about him over his political activities behind the curtain.
