8 Rajshahi policemen suspended over gambling

As many as eight policemen in Rajshahi district have been suspended on charge of gambling in a residential hotel.

The suspended policemen are Sub-inspectors (SI) Abdul Barek and Mizanur Rhamna; Nayek Afzal Sarkar; Constables Forhad Hossain, Abdus Salam and Sahed Ali. They all were posted at the district police lines.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and district police in different official order suspended them on Thursday evening.

The suspended policemen were attached to the district police lines.

It was learned that they were gambling by playing cards in a residential hotel.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Golam Ruhul Quddus, RMP's spokesperson, said they will also have to undergo dope test.
