Corona antigen tests begin in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 6: The antigen tests have started here for testing corona samples in a short time.
Professor Dr. Shakil Ahmed, head of Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) Lab told BSS that they have been starting antigen tests at their laboratory from Tuesday.
"A total of three samples were tested on the first day. Of them, one is tested positive. We're sending the report in a short time as the results of the tests are available within a short time ranging from a few minutes to half an hour," he said.
"About 1,000 kits have been provided by the health directorate," Prof Shakil said, adding that the antigen tests were officially approved by the government last Monday.
Earlier, an order, signed by Deputy Secretary of the Health Department Bilkis Begum and allowed by an official, have been passed to approve antigen tests on September 21 last year.
Mentionable that the antigen tests for coronavirus detection have started in 10 districts of the country from December 5.
