BRTA secy Aliur Rahman dies from coronavirus

Khandaker Aliur Rahman, secretary of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority, died from novel coronavirus at a hospital in the capital.

He breathed his last at Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital, BRTA chairman Nur Mohammad Majumder confirmed.

"I received the sad news this morning. Aliur Rahman's wife and friends have confirmed the death news" he said.

On November 18, Aliur had posted on his Facebook wall that he tested positive for COVID-19. From then, he had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for 22 days.

"He was admitted to the hospital again after one week of returning home.
