Man beaten dead over owed money in Cox’s Bazar

A man was reportedly beaten to death at Sadar upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Sunday morning over owed money.

Deceased Nurul Alam was the son of late Abdul Hakim, a resident of Purba Sikdarpara in Islamabad union under the upazila. Nurul was the father of two.

Family sources said Nurul was punched indiscriminately in the area around 10:30 am over owed money, leaving him injured.

Nurul succumbed to his injuries on the way to local hospital.

Eidgaon investigation centre in-charge Md Abdul Hamid said additional police were deployed in the area to avert any untoward incident.
