Hundreds of tourists have thronged Cox's Bazar to capture the last memory of this year's sunset at the longest sea beach of the world, ignoring the health guidelines for coronavirus infection.
Though the local administration has banned all kinds of outdoor activities on 31st night, more than 450 hotels, motels, resorts and cottages in the tourist town have already been booked by local and foreign tourists. All traders are over the moon amid the huge presence of tourists in the town.
Every year hotels and motels wear a festive look with colorful decoration centering the celebration of 31st night. This year there is no such kind of arrangement due to coronavirus but traders are happy with the booking of tourists.
Tourist polices have beefed up security and were seen busy in their duties on Thursday to ensure security of tourists in the beach area.
Cox's Bazar Tourist Police ASP Mizanuzzaman said they would patrol from Kalatali to Diabetes Point.
Md. Al Amin Parvez, ADC of the district, said it is not possible to bring every one under policing. "People should be aware by themselves. They should follow health guidelines”, he added.
Tourist Md Imon, who arrived from Chattogram, said he came to the beach after a long break amid the pandemic.
