Two city corporations take charge of 26 canals in Dhaka

Dhaka Wasa on Thursday officially handed over the charges of 26 canals to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to reduce waterlogging problems.

Taksim A Khan, managing director of WASA, signed the MoU at Intercontinental Hotel in the capital where the chief executive officers of the two city corporations were present.
Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Minister Tajul Islam was present as chief guest.

Through the MoU, the DNCC and the DSCC will take all the responsibilities for resolving waterlogging problems.

Two Dhaka City Corporations Mayors Atiqul Islam and Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh were also present at the function.
