Ex-mayor Sayeed Khokon sued for 'misappropriating' Tk 34cr |
![]() A case was filed on Tuesday against former Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sayeed Khokon and six others on charge of their alleged involvement in misappropriating Tk 34 crore allocating shops at Fulbaria City Super Market in Gulistan violating the design. Delwar Hossain, president of the market, filed the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court Shahidul Islam. A mobile court has recently demolished some shops at the market at the directive of the present DSCC Mayor Fazle Noor Taposh. Court's peshkar Md Atiqur Rahman said the magistrate would deliver an order after recording the statement of the complainant. Other six accused are DSCC's former chief revenue officer Yusuf Ali Sardar, former deputy assistant engineer Mazed, Kamrul Hasan, Helena Akter, Atiqur Rahman and Walid. There were 911 shops built at three blocks at at the DSCC owned Fulbaria City Super Market. The DSCC officials launched a drive to demolish the shops on December 8 last. The demolition drive began following repeated clashes with the shop owners and emplyoees. During the drive, some 300 shops were demolished. SZA |
