COVID: Bangladesh reports 30 more deaths in last 24hrs

Bangladesh on Saturday recorded 30 more COVID-19 deaths which took the total tally to 7,428 in the country.

In last 24 hours, 834 more fresh cases were reported.

Now, the total virus cases stand at 5,0,8,099.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, this afternoon.

Of the deceased, 23 were men and seven were women. All of them died at different hospitals across the country.

Health authorities also informed 1,685 more patients were declared free from the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the total recovered number to 4,50,488.

During this period, 9,912 samples were tested in 163 labs across the country. So far, a total of 3,159,260 samples have been tested in the country.

The government has been warning of a second wave of COVID-19 in winter and urging people to properly follow health safety measures. It has adopted a 'no mask, no service' policy.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
