With the deaths of 19 more people in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Thursday, Bangladesh's COVID-19 death count now stands at 7,378.
During this timeline, 1,234 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 5,06,102.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, today afternoon.
Health authorities also reported 2,345 more recoveries over the preceding 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,46,690.
In the last 24 hours, 163 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 13,389 samples and tested 13,227.
With this, a total of 31,35,653 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased, 15 were men and the rest four were women. Of them, 11 are from Dhaka, four from Chattogram, three from Mymensingh and one from Khulna divisions respectively.
So far, 5,622 men (76.20%) and 1,756 women (23.80%) have died from coronavirus in the country.
The infection rate is 9.33 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the samples tested, while the overall infection rate is 16.14 per cent.
So far, the recovery rate is 88.26 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.46 per cent.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
According to Worldometer's COVID-19 data, the deadly virus has killed 1,739,914 people globally and infected 79,163,277 as of Thursday afternoon.
