The BCSIR sequenced the genomes of five samples of the coronavirus in early November where virus mutations were found similar to that of the UK's new COVID-19 strain, it informed.

The organisation has already started its research to find out the identity of the person who carried the virus.

BCSIR's in-charge Dr Salim Khan said, "Position of the mutation in the UK and Bangladesh are same which is the matter of anxiety. I hope it would be cleared within a few days."
