Farmer dies from electrocution in Kurigram

A farmer died from electrocution in Phulbari upazila of Kurigran district on Tuesday morning.

Deceased Abdul Malek Uddin, 48, was a resident of Purbadhaniram village in the upazila.

Locals and police sources said he came in contact with the electric wire around 10:30 am when he was watering field by electric pump.

He was rushed to Phulbari Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Phulbari Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Rajib Kumar Rai said an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
