Bagha Jatin's sculpture vandalized in Kushtia

Vandals have damaged the sculpture of anti-British revolutionary leader, Bagha Jatin, at Kaya College in Kushtia.

Vandals damaged the nose and parts of the right cheek of the sculpture installed at Kaya College in Kumarkhali upazila on Friday night, police said.

Kushtia’s Additional Superintendent of Police Atiqul Islam Atiq said one of their teams had visited the spot. He said they were conducting drives to identify and arrest the vandals.

On December 5, a group of vandals damaged the under-construction sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Panch Rasta Moar area of the same district.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rajibul Islam Khan said Vandals damaged the nose and parts of the right cheek of the sculpture.

“We are investigating the matter and culprits will be brought under justice as early as possible,” he added.
